WHC---Guided-Bowfishing-300-x250New bass fishing regulations took effect last weekend in Minnesota.  These new regulations, including a 2 week catch-and-release season,  are aimed at bass anglers anxious to get out and start casting docks at the same time that walleye fisherman are out jigging shiners.

Proponents state that most bass fisherman are catch and release anglers anyway, so why not start the season earlier?

What kind of impact could this have on spawning fish?  We asked the fisheries supervisor for Little Falls, Eric Altena on last week’s radio show.  Here’s what he had to say:
